WELCOME TO DCB DESIGN STUDIO

My designs consist of non traditional forms that are connected to their use and function. Meant to be seen but not heard, I create pieces that have a subtle elegance using the natural designs found in wood to enhance my own.

I have an interest in the variety of patterns and colours that different species of wood offer. Inspired by the repetition of wood’s grain and stability of the medium my pieces are a reflection and exploration of natural patterns and colours found in wood. The wood speaks for itself, I am merely amplifying its voice. 

With the philosophy of never throwing out wood, many of my works are made out of soon to be landfill. I use my experience in wood turning and laminations to rebuild this salvaged material into usable pieces with intricate patterns and designs. I use them to create one of a kind cutting boards and accessories that are not only unique but tell a story of the line between usability and ineffectiveness that consumerism has predetermined for us.
